Can a pregnant women eat feijoa?
Feijoa should be consumed by all pregnant women, and all because it contains iodine. This microelement is very important for the mental development of the fetus.
The thyroid gland of the child begins to form on the 4th – 5th week of pregnancy. And after 12 weeks, the only source of iodine for a baby is my mother’s body. Therefore, during pregnancy, the need for iodine increases. Therefore, it is useful to start using feijoa from the second trimester of pregnancy, of course, if a woman does not have hyperthyroidism.
The fruit is extremely rich plant fibers. They have a beneficial effect on intestinal peristalsis and relieve a woman of such an unpleasant phenomenon during pregnancy as constipation.
